Mojo Monday #80 and The Cuttlebug Spot #24 Emboss it Twice

I did this card for both Challenges. I double embossed a white panel with the Cuttlebug embossing folders Leafy Branch and Butterfly. I then chalked them. I added patterned paper, a chipboard Hi, ribbon and bling! I used the great sketch by Mojo Monday. I couldn't get the scan to look right so it probably looks better in real life! Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday Challenge #25-Goldfinger and Stamp Something-Sketch Challenge

Brooke and Sankari at Cinema Saturday are giving away yummy blog candy to celebrate their 25th Challenge. It is a fun blog so go check it out!

The girls at Stamp Something have a wonderful sketch to use this week and they are giving away blog candy too so go check out that site too!

This card is for both challenges. The film inspiration at Cinema Saturday was the James Bond Film-Goldfinger. I love James Bond films especially the older ones with Sean Connery. When I think of them, I think of him in his tuxedo drinking his "shaken not stirred" martini. I tried to make an elegant card. You had to use gold for the Cinema Saturday Challenge so that wasn't too hard when making an elegant card! The saying is StampinUp, the chandelier is Heidi Swapp and the little glasses are Stampabilities. Everything on the card is embossed. I used the Sketch by Stamp Something. Thanks for stopping by!

Card to benefit the Alzheimers Association

I made this card for Jen Tapier. Her blog is here:

http://jentapler.blogspot.com/2009/03/blogoversary-challenge-big-blog-candy.html

She is collecting cards to benefit the Alzheimers Association. She is also giving away yummy blog candy! My father-in-law passed away a year ago from Alzheimers so this is a cause that is close to my heart!

I pounded alcohol inks into a glossy panel. Then I embossed the rose with black and embossed the Thank You in red. The rose is from Inkadinkado and the Thank you is StampinUp.

House Mouse Challenge #30-Shape Card

Here is my entry for this weeks House Mouse Challenge. You were supposed to make a card in a shape other than a square or rectangle. I wasn't going to make one this week because I thought that would be too hard to do, I was wrong, it was easy when I came up with an idea! My best friend's daughter is going to be 5 in June so I decided to make her a birthday card. I shaped it in a K and it does open up. Instead of a mouse holding an egg, he is holding a cupcake! Instead of a mouse getting a candy valentine, he is holding a present. Instead of 2 mice hanging from a dragonfly, they are hanging from a Happy Birthday sign! The cupcake is Stampabilities and the Happy Birthday and present are Queen Kat Designs. The flowers are FloraDoodles and the butterflies are Heidi Swapp. This was fun to make and I have a feeling that she will like it!

I posted it scanned on a black background too because the other scan made it look like a rectangle card!

Cinema Saturday Challenge #24 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

The Cinema Saturday Challenge this week was to base your card on the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and to use something bright. The older version with Gene Wilder in it is one of my all time favorite movies! I was trying to make my card kind of look like candy. It didn't quite turn out how I wanted! I took baby wipes and dipped it in ink and made circles on a glossy paper. Then I embossed the saying and circles. I borrowed this stamp set from a friend, It is from StampinUp. I added bling and ribbon.

I really didn't like how the red card came out. I thought about it all day at work and came home and made another one! I like the multicolored one a little better. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #22-Sketch and Stamp Something-Think Spring Challenge

Here is the card that I came up with for both of these challenges. They are new challenges for me and I hope it isn't too late! I sponged green and yellow ink on a glossy paper. Then I stamped and clear embossed the tulips. I used cuttlebug embossing folder on the green and yellow vellum strips. The saying is from Queen Kat Designs and the tulip is from StampinUp. Thanks for stopping by!
