I tried to make this a child-like card because in the movie Forrest Gump, Forrest and Jenny became friends when they were kids. Forrest says " We went together like peas and carrots" My husband and I never could figure this out because we do eat peas and carrots together but we ususally throw in corn and lima beans and call it succotash!
Anyway I always say this but this is one of my favorite movies!
I didn't stamp on this card per the Allsorts Challenge. I used stickers and rubons. The heart paper is Reminisce and the ruled paper is Scenic Route. The fabric circle of the man and woman is cut from a cloth by Elsie. I used various stickers from my stash and the peas are rubons by Heidi Grace and the carrots are stickers by Provo Craft.

Stamp Something- Animal Something and Get Sketchy #3

I made this card for 2 challenges. I used the sketch from the Get Sketchy Challenge Blog. For the Stamp Something Challenge Blog you were supposed to have an animal on your card. Of course I used a House Mouse stamp! This one is Wet Behind the Ears. I colored it with Copic markers. The patterned paper is Sandylion. I added a ribbon, flowers, button and stickpin. Mojo Monday 101 and Stampin' for the Weekend #13-Anything Baby Goes

I made this baby card using the sketch from Mojo Monday. For the Stampin' for the Weekend the challenge was to do a baby card. The stamp that I used is from Queen Kat Design and I embossed the fairy in black. I also embossed the saying from StampinUp with Blue Zing embossing powder. The blue specialty paper is Best Occasions Prismatic Paper Pack. I added 3 black beads. Thanks for stopping by!

Midnight Madness Sketch #16 and Ready, Steady, Stamp Four

The Ready Steady Stamp Challenge was kind of hard this week so I ended up creating 2 cards for it! Here are the ingredients.

Brown, cream and white

I made this card first using the great sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge then I thought it might be too cute! My daughter's name is Amy so I made this birthday card for her. I found some canvas cards with envelopes at Hobby Lobby.
I painted a chipboard A and then stamped it with a flower stamp from StampinUp. I painted the brown strip and added KI Gloo to make the "raindrops". I cut the scalloped circle with the Cuttlebug and the saying is Queen Kat design which is embossed in white. I sponged brown around the cream panel and the papers are Basic Grey. I added a cream flower and button and a ribbon to the A.



Since I thought the first one might be too cute I decided to try another one for the Ready, Steady, Stamp challenge. I also wanted to make better use of the canvas card. I painted the card with red, orange and brown paint. After drying I brushed brown paint on the tree stamp by PSX and stamped it on the card. I added the "raindropa" and stamped the saying (Postmodern Design). I sponged the edges of the cream panel that says Fall with brown ink. I thought the challenge said scalloped edge instead of scalloped circle so I messed up a little and used a scalloped rectangle! I ended up liking both cards. Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday #46-Field of Dreams

So the movie inspiration for the Cinema Saturday Challenge is the movie Field of Dreams. This is one of my favorite movies because of the message that it gives and because it is set in the Midwest. For you guys that live "across the pond" or that live in different parts of the US, I am going to tell you a little bit about the Midwest or the place that I call home.
There are gently rolling hills of corn, soybeans and woods. The countryside is dotted with white farmhouses, windmills, barns, silos, small country churches... Today there are huge, puffy, white clouds against the blue sky. Of course there are more subdivisions, cities... popping up but I will always love Indiana in any season!
OK back to my card! My inspiration is the character Moonlight Graham. I love him because he was a country doctor that gave up his dream to play baseball to help people. I took a glossy panel and rubbed on blue ink with a cottonball. I rubbed a cottonball and a Qtip in Versamark and embossed the moon and stars with Stardust embossing powder. I drew the corn (don't laugh!) with an embossing pen and embossed them. I printed the saying on a tranparency and attached it. You were supposed to add red stitching to your card but I thought that would look out of place on this card (Sorry Brooke and Sankari!) I have went on long enough, thanks for stopping by!

Basic Grey Week 2-a colour combo and Get Sketchy #2

I created this card for the Basic Grey Challenge and the Get Sketchy Challenge. The Basic Grey papers that I used are Sultry. The Stamp is Stampland which I stamped on a glossy panel. The sentiment is StampinUp. I ran the yellow strips through the Cuttlebug and inked them with brown. For the Basic Grey Challenge you were supposed to use yellow, pink and brown. It was pretty hard to add the yellow but I guess it doesn't look too bad! I found a new sketch challenge called Get Sketchy so I used the sketch there. Thanks for stopping by!

I used the cute Happy Hopper It's my Party stamp. I colored him with Copic markers. The paper is The Paper Studio which I ran through the Cuttlebug and then sanded it. The saying is Pebbles, Inc. rub ons. I added heart pearls and brads. Thanks for stopping by!
