A Card for Rose

The movie for inspiration at the Cinema Saturday Challenge #64 is Titanic. The inspiration for my card is the encouragement that Jack gave to Rose at the very end of the movie. He told her not to give up, that she was going to live a long life, and she did! Rose rode horses on the beach, married, had children and grandchildren...Rose reminds me of my Grandma. My Grandma lived to the ripe old age of 96. She farmed with my Grandpa, raised 2 girls through the Great Depression, lost a child (my Mom), had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she outlived my Grandpa by 20 years and she was feisty to the end, just like Rose!

The stamps that I used for this card is Hot Off the Press. I silver embossed the swirls. The saying is printed off my computer. The paper is Making Memories. I cut the circle and the rectangle with the Spellbinders. I added ribbon and a snowflake. The pink acrylic heart represents Jack. I used the sketch at Mojo Monday #123. Thanks for stopping by!

I used the card sketch at Midnight Madness #38. Since I used 8 butterflies, I am entering in the Flutterby Wednesday #94 Challenge and the Quixotic Challenge #11-Flutter By. The stamps that I used are StampinUp. I ran the green panel through the Cuttlebug embossing folder. I punched daisies, butterflies and leaves and added gems. Thanks for stopping by!

Love Remains the Same

I created this card for 4 challenges.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #63-Australia
Our Creative Corner-Sketch Challenge
Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential #15-Let the Sunshine In
Allsorts Challenge week #36-hearts and flowers

The movie at the Cinema Saturday Challenge Blog is Australia. This is such a beautiful, romantic, moving epic. Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman are just so great together in this movie. I cried when he thought that she was killed in the army hospital and when he saved the orphans on the island and finally found her at the end of the movie. Sorry for the spoiler! I was going to try to NOT do a romantic card but I just couldn't! I am just too much of a romantic!

To make this card I rubbed red, orange and yellow ink on a glossy panel. I traced the image of the man and woman that I got from the internet. I filled it in with an embossing pen and embossed it with black. I stamped the birds (Verve) with Versamark and embossed them with black. The paper is SEI. The border punch is Martha Stewart and I added the heart bling. The requirement for the challenge is to use Kraft paper on your card so I printed the song lyrics on it.. The lyrics are from Love Remains the Same. It isn't from the movie but I really think that the words really fit this movie. Thanks for stopping by!

How Corny!

That is the name of this cute House Mouse stamp that I got myself for Christmas! These challenges gave me the opportunity to ink it up.

I fell in love with this stamp! These little mice just crack me up! I coloured the image with Copic markers but I used gold rubon for the background of the barrel. The saying is Stampabilities and the Basic Grey papers are Henna. Thanks for stopping by!

a Snow layout

It has been forever since I scrapbooked! The Play Date Cafe #12 gave me the opportunity to use shades of blue. I used the sketch at the Inspirational Card Challenge #49. The journaling is computer generated and I added an epoxy snow sticker. Thanks for stopping by!

History makes people wise

Here is a change from the "cute" cards that I have been making lately! I created this project for the Cinema Saturday Challenge #62-Night at the Museum. This is actually a 5x7 picture that I made for my son. I just have to get a frame for it. He is a History teacher and I thought that he could put it in his classroom. I have seen both of the Night at the Museum movies quite a few times and they are really fun. Ben Stiller is one of my favorite actors. Anyway I took the inspiration from all of the history shown in this movie, of course! I never really liked History in school but my son and husband gives me a new appreciation for it because they love it!

I printed the saying from the computer. I layered stickers and rubons from my stash. The Eiffel Tower is embossed in pewter. You are supposed to put a miniature on your project so I am counting it as a miniature! I then rubbed Ranger walnut distress ink on it. I ran the brown panel through the Argyle Cuttlebug folder. Thanks for stopping by for your History lesson today!

A Knight's Tale

The Cinema Saturday #61 movie for inspiration is A Knight's Tale. I love Heath Ledger. He was a really good actor. Anyway, I like this movie. This card is inspired by William wanting to be a Knight even though he wasn't royal blood. So this saying goes with the movie-"The greatest achievements were at first and for some time, dreams."

I recently bought the Cuttlebug folder Stars. For this challenge, you are supposed to use a star on your project. I ran the red panels through the the folder and then sanded it. I then rubbed yellow ink on it. I then embossed the images on the black panels with gold stardust. I stamped a shield with a lion on it with Versamark and clear embossed it. It is just kind of hard to see! All stamps are StampinUp. I made the saying to look like a scroll. I used the sketch from Stamp Something-Sketch Something. Thanks for stopping by!

A musical cat...

On the beach (instead of in the snow!)

It is 13 degrees and 3 inches of snow on the ground as most of the United States is in a cold freeze! Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, I just wish it was a little bit warmer and I didn't have to drive to work in it! The House Mouse Challenge #60 gave us the opportunity to go to the beach and get away from it all! The challenge is On the Beach. I also used the card sketch at the Get Sketchy Blog #20.I used the stamp Bunny Cruise colored with Copic markers. The saying is Queen Kat Designs. The papers are Flair Designs and I ran the blue panel through the Wave Cuttlebug folder. I was in Hawaii for a half an hour while I made this card! Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday is back!

They picked one of my favorite movies for inspiration, The Chronicles of Narnia. I read the books as a child and really loved them. When Disney made this movie I was so excited and I wasn't disappointed! Most people know that C S Lewis wrote this story with religious undertones. I chose this Bible verse because it reminds me of how Edmond chose the wrong path and God made his path straight.

I used a lot of sparkle on this card. You were supposed to use iridescent pearls. I don't have any so I ran the 2 white panels in the Snowflake Cuttlebug folder, rubbed it with versamark and embossed it with Stardust embossing powder. I ran the iridescent silver paper through the Star Cuttlebug folder. I embossed the image with black and colored it with Copic markers. I put Dazzling Diamonds on the lamb. The saying is printed off the computer. I added felt stars and beads. I am glad that Sankari and Brooke are back with their Cinema Saturday #60. I also used the sketch at Allsorts #33. You are supposed to use something old or new on your card. This stamp is something old from my stash from StampinUp. I really love this stamp. Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you dance...

I created this fun card for 2 challenges. I used the Get Sketchy #19 card sketch and the colors lemon and lime for the Colour Create Challenge Blog #35. I used a digital image from Squigglefly and I colored her with Copic markers. I ran the green panel through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder. The rubons are Marcella K and I used paper and flower brads from my stash. Thanks for stopping by!
