Mojo Monday #80 and The Cuttlebug Spot #24 Emboss it Twice

I did this card for both Challenges. I double embossed a white panel with the Cuttlebug embossing folders Leafy Branch and Butterfly. I then chalked them. I added patterned paper, a chipboard Hi, ribbon and bling! I used the great sketch by Mojo Monday. I couldn't get the scan to look right so it probably looks better in real life! Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday Challenge #25-Goldfinger and Stamp Something-Sketch Challenge

Brooke and Sankari at Cinema Saturday are giving away yummy blog candy to celebrate their 25th Challenge. It is a fun blog so go check it out!

The girls at Stamp Something have a wonderful sketch to use this week and they are giving away blog candy too so go check out that site too!

This card is for both challenges. The film inspiration at Cinema Saturday was the James Bond Film-Goldfinger. I love James Bond films especially the older ones with Sean Connery. When I think of them, I think of him in his tuxedo drinking his "shaken not stirred" martini. I tried to make an elegant card. You had to use gold for the Cinema Saturday Challenge so that wasn't too hard when making an elegant card! The saying is StampinUp, the chandelier is Heidi Swapp and the little glasses are Stampabilities. Everything on the card is embossed. I used the Sketch by Stamp Something. Thanks for stopping by!

Card to benefit the Alzheimers Association

I made this card for Jen Tapier. Her blog is here:

http://jentapler.blogspot.com/2009/03/blogoversary-challenge-big-blog-candy.html

She is collecting cards to benefit the Alzheimers Association. She is also giving away yummy blog candy! My father-in-law passed away a year ago from Alzheimers so this is a cause that is close to my heart!

I pounded alcohol inks into a glossy panel. Then I embossed the rose with black and embossed the Thank You in red. The rose is from Inkadinkado and the Thank you is StampinUp.

House Mouse Challenge #30-Shape Card

Here is my entry for this weeks House Mouse Challenge. You were supposed to make a card in a shape other than a square or rectangle. I wasn't going to make one this week because I thought that would be too hard to do, I was wrong, it was easy when I came up with an idea! My best friend's daughter is going to be 5 in June so I decided to make her a birthday card. I shaped it in a K and it does open up. Instead of a mouse holding an egg, he is holding a cupcake! Instead of a mouse getting a candy valentine, he is holding a present. Instead of 2 mice hanging from a dragonfly, they are hanging from a Happy Birthday sign! The cupcake is Stampabilities and the Happy Birthday and present are Queen Kat Designs. The flowers are FloraDoodles and the butterflies are Heidi Swapp. This was fun to make and I have a feeling that she will like it!

I posted it scanned on a black background too because the other scan made it look like a rectangle card!

Cinema Saturday Challenge #24 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

The Cinema Saturday Challenge this week was to base your card on the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and to use something bright. The older version with Gene Wilder in it is one of my all time favorite movies! I was trying to make my card kind of look like candy. It didn't quite turn out how I wanted! I took baby wipes and dipped it in ink and made circles on a glossy paper. Then I embossed the saying and circles. I borrowed this stamp set from a friend, It is from StampinUp. I added bling and ribbon.

I really didn't like how the red card came out. I thought about it all day at work and came home and made another one! I like the multicolored one a little better. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #22-Sketch and Stamp Something-Think Spring Challenge

Here is the card that I came up with for both of these challenges. They are new challenges for me and I hope it isn't too late! I sponged green and yellow ink on a glossy paper. Then I stamped and clear embossed the tulips. I used cuttlebug embossing folder on the green and yellow vellum strips. The saying is from Queen Kat Designs and the tulip is from StampinUp. Thanks for stopping by!

The papers are October Afternoon and Basic Grey. Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday Week #78

Here is a card I did for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I was going to say a "quick" card but it wasn't that at all! I wanted to use purple and green on it and I am still not quite satisfied how it came out! I had a different ribbon on it too and changed that to ric rac! The stamp is Hero Arts. I am going to call it a night and thanks for stopping by!

House Mouse Challenge #29-Sketch Challenge

It wasn't too hard to figure out which stamp to use with this sketch because this is my favorite stamp! This is probably because I love dragonflies and House Mouses! This stamp is called Dragonfly-ing and the saying is from Stampabilities also. The bling is from Kaiser Scrapbook and the ribbon is from my stash. Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday Challenge #23 "Waking Ned Devine"

The movie inspiration at Cinema Saturday Challenge was "Waking Ned Devine" in honor of St. Patrick's Day. We have to use something green on our project. I watched it tonight on hula.com. I don't think I had seen this before. I enjoyed it, it had some really funny parts to it. I went to scrapbook classes put on by Scrapbook Ect. last year. Jenni Bowlin was there and taught us a class. She gave us these cute bingo cards. The butterfly and the U is from that class too. I embossed the shamrocks which are from StampinUp. Thanks for stopping by!

House Mouse Challenge #28 and Mojo Monday Challenge #77

I was really stuck trying to come up with a masculine card using a mouse, bunny or bear! This was a challenge. When you get into a funk you go buy another stamp! I bought this Bedtime Story Gruffy and the Dream is from Stampabilities also. The paper is Little Yellow Bicycle and the pearls are from Kaiser Scrapbook (which both were on sale, yeah!) I also used the great sketch from Mojo Monday this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday Challenge #22 Singing in the Rain and Scrappy Sunday Sketch Challenge

The movie this week for the Cinema Saturday Challenge was Singing in the Rain. You had to use something glassy or clear like rain. I chose to do a layout of my daughter when she got engaged because of the love of the two main characters. I love the Singing in the Rain song by Gene Kelly. I painted the chipboard and dotted brown spots on it. It was too bright so I sponged it with brown ink. I used 3-D Glass Finish and made the shape of two hearts on patterned paper and cut them out. The patterned papers are Bo Bunny. I used the sketch from Paper Craft Planet Scrappy Sunday. Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday Challenge #76 & Spring Fever Challenge

I really like this blog challenge and I haven't figured out how to post the sketch on my blog yet! I am also using this card for the Spring Fever Challenge at Pink Persimmon. Anyway I received my monthly kit from Scrapbookloversdream this week. I loved all the blues and greens, I guess because they are my favorite colors. The patterned papers are from Bo Bunny. The stamps are from Gel-a-tins -Sheltering Tree. They are clear stamps that come in a tin. I embossed the tree and the saying with green embossing powder. This is a card for Spring weather, it is 70 degrees today and very windy so Happy Spring and thanks for stopping by!

House Mouse Challenge #27 Chipboard and Sketch Challenge

I was not planning on making a card tonight but I had this idea for this challenge and had to finish it! You had to use chipboard for the House Mouse Challenge this week. I took the 0 out of a Q chipboard letter to use for my egg. I painted it and wrapped ribbon and ric rac around it. I used a pop dot behind the mouse to make it stand out. The papers are StampinUp and the saying is from Rusty Pickle. I also used this week's Sketch Challenge for the layout of this card. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrappy Sunday and Cinema Saturday Challenge #21

This scrapbook page is for 2 challenges. The Cinema Saturday Challenge was to base your project on the film Bride and Prejudice. This is a Bollywood movie. It has beautiful Indian dances and the women are dressed in Saris. I tried to use bright colors like a sari. You were also supposed to use some bling so I used tiny red gems and the Florida 2008 is sparkly. I love this picture of my husband because the sunset is so vibrant behind him so it inspired me to use the bright colors for this layout. It was a challenge because I am more comfortable using cardstock but I wanted this to be patterned paper. I actually wanted to use pink but it didn't look right and my husband wouldn't have liked it! Thanks for stopping by!
