I covered it with Glossy Effects and added the Glitter, let it dry, cut it out and added it to my card. The glitter is on the back next to the card, so that glitter don't get everywhere!  I added ribbon and blue gems. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is my Design Team project for The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge. The challenge for the month of December is Christmas Something or to make a gift or alter something, just use a critter on your project! The sponsor for this month is Whimsy Stamps. You have a chance to win your choice of 5 digital stamps! I added 2 flowers with bling in the middles and punched leaves. We got to take a trip to Hawaii this year and this card makes me want to go back! Thanks for stopping by!

envelope art plus a card to match

The challenge for The House Mouse #83 is envelope art. I haven't decorated envelopes very much in the past but I like the way they look! I need to start doing this more! I colored this House Mouse image with Copic markers. The pine needle stamp is Verve. Sorry if the envelopes looks dirty, they are not! I have cleaned and cleaned my scanner but can't get all of the glue off!

Would you believe that my family threw me a surprise birthday party last night! I was a little suspicious right before because they left a couple of my photo albums out. Nobody messes with my pictures without me knowing it! They made me a poster and put some of my pictures on it. My friends and family were there, I have a great family and I had a wonderful 50th birthday!

Now on to my card that I have created for 4 challenges.

The challenge at the Allsorts #78 is to use a sketch. I turned it into a gatefold card for the Just Us Girls #59-Technique Challenge so this card opens in the middle.

The paper is Printworks. I colored the image with Copic markers. I cut the little daisies with the Cuttlebug and added gems to the middles. This was fun and I like this card because it is full of my favorites! Thanks for stopping by!

Hippity Hop Blog Hop:Recipe Challenge

For this blog hop, you are supposed to create a card or layout using the recipe that 5 different challenge blogs give you. Here are the sites and recipes:

Sassy Lil' Sketches-use the sketch that they give you
Scrap Fit-use 3 of the same element-I used 3 black pearls
Crop Suey-get messy-I rubbed black ink on the star embossed panel
ScrapTiffany-use lace
The Cuttlebug Spot-use texture or embossing-I used the star Cuttlebug embossing folder

The stamps are StampinUp and they are embossed with black and snowflake embossing powders. I added the silver stars on a string. This was a fun and challenging blog hop, give it a try! Thanks for stopping by!

Family

My family is going through a tough time right now so making this layout is very therapeutic! I love my family so much! I never did post pictures of my son's wedding like I promised so here is a layout using a picture of us at the wedding.

For the Cinema Saturday Challenge #100-Pride and Predjudice, you can enter more than once this time. I wasn't really happy with my card so I am entering this layout also. What impressed me about this movie was how close the Bennett family was. I loved the relationships between Elizabeth and her father, all of the sisters, the Mom and the daughters... The paper is Bo Bunny and the chipboard letters are Me and My Big Ideas. My journaling was printed on the computer. The sun stamp is Verve and is embossed with sparkly gold. You have to add lace so I added black lace behind the Family. When you live in a small Indiana town, we don't have many stores. Our Walmart didn't even have any lace! I had to buy a lace panty and cut it up! Thanks for stopping by!

a bird with a song

I was very bad and ordered myself some Verve stamps for my birthday! I love bird stamps so I used this set to make a card for 3 challenges.

The Play Date Cafe #55-bright blue, pale blue, pink, red and burgundy
Basic Grey Challenge #33-Wings
The Midnight Madness Sketch #79

These colors are kind of hard to put together but I love the effect now that I did it! The stamps are Verve which I embossed the birds with ruby red and the saying is embossed with pale pink embossing powder. I ran the blue panel through the Leaf Cuttlebug folder. The Basic Grey paper that I used is the burgundy strip down the middle called Boxer. I added the blue flower brads. My hubby and son are deer hunting this weekend so I will probably get some more crafting done later! Thanks for stopping by!

Hope that everyone is having a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Cinema Saturday #100-Pride and Predjudice

I had to create a card for this challenge. Congratulations to Brooke and Sankari for celebrating their 100th Cinema Saturday Challenge. They started with Pride and Predjudice and everyone voted for it to be their 100th challenge too! I have to admit that I am not a big Jane Austen fan. I know, not very womanly of me! My sister is though, does that count? I am a big romantic though and I love happy endings! I watched the 2005 version with Kierra Knightly. My card is inspired by the happy ending where Elizabeth realizes that she loves Mr. Darcy. I love the scene where he comes out of the fog and the very end.

I rubbed rose ink on a glossy panel and backed it with black. I stamped the man (Tim Holtz) the lady (Hot off the Press) the swirls (Scrappy Cat) and the saying (Hampton Art) with black Stazon ink. The requirement is to add a touch of lace which I did for the collar of her dress. Thanks for stopping by!

This was fun to make, you ought to try it! Thanks for stopping by!

a beautiful dandelion

Hi there! I created a card tonight for 4 challenges.

Cinema Saturday #99-Edward Sissorhands-use a die cut
Play Date Cafe #51-mint green, light blue and beige
An Oldie but a Goodie #4-add a butterfly
Midnight Madness Sketch #76

This saying by Queen Kat Design reminds me of Edward Sissorhands in an odd way! Edward was beautiful and sensitive and he created beautiful things. When you look at a dandelion, you can see the nuisance that they make to your yard! or you can see the beauty in it! I've had this dandelion stamp by StampinUp for at least 5 years. I don't know the manufacturer of the paper. The butterfly is a die cut created with the Cuttlebug. I also ran the blue panel through the Cuttlebug embossing folder. I added pearls and a flower. I also added Dazzling Diamonds to the dandelion. Thanks for stopping by!
