An Irish Blessing

The movie for inspiration this week at Cinema Saturday #67 is Tristan and Isolde. My husband had to work over tonight so I watched about half of it on the internet. I am not too keen about finishing it because I think Tristan dies in the end:( Anyway, she is from Ireland and he is from Britain which are at war. I thought that this Irish Blessing would be appropriate. The birds represent Tristan and Isolde.

I used stamps from 4 different companies. The birds are StampinUp. The Irish Blessing is My Sentiments Exactly! The scene on the inside is A Stamp in the Hand Co. and the saying on the inside is Verve. I used green craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The birds are stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white. I ran the sides of the card with the Argyle embossing folder with the Cuttlebug and rubbed silver on it. I also used green silver paper. This is a gate fold card. Thanks for stopping by!

Happiness is...

It snowed over a foot of snow today. Too bad that I had to go to work, I would have liked to stay home and make cards all day! I did create this card for 3 challenges.

365 Cards-Day 352 Gloria's sketch

The saying is Queen Kat Designs that I embossed in silver. I ran the lavender panel through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Folder. I added the specialty paper and the bow. These colors are hard to combine! Girl Power!

Well, I finally made time to make a card for some challenges this weekend! My daughter's birthday is today so we took her out for supper and I have been working on her invitations for her wedding reception. I hope that everyone had a Happy Valentines Day! Here are the challenges:

Cinema Saturday #66-Clueless-use plaid
Colour Create Challenge #38-red, white, dark brown and pink
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #40

The movie for inspiration at the Cinema Saturday Challenge this week is Clueless. This is such a fun movie. It is so funny watching the 16 year olds at Beverly Hills and the "problems" they have, especially trying to get their driver's license! My inspiration for this card is Cher, the main character. She took care of her Dad and her friends, did volunteer work and even ended up falling in love! This image is from Penny Black that my friend Sue stamped for me, coloured with Copic markers. Sorry that Cher has short hair! The saying is a sticker. The plaid paper is Keeping Memories Alive and I added red gems. Thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designer for the Cinema Saturday Challenge Blog-Sleepless in Seattle

I was so excited when Brooke and Sankari chose my Love Remains the Same card based on the movie-Australia for the Audrey award. I was the Guest Designer for this week's Cinema Saturday Challenge. The movie for inspiration is Sleepless in Seattle. This card opens in the middle and the MAGIC is the inside of the card.

Sleepless in Seattle really is one of my favorite movies. I love how Annie tries to figure out if she truly loves Walter. I think it is so funny when her brother tells her that his wife told him that they either had to get married or break up! Her mother tells her that it was like Magic and when Sam explains how he touched his wifes hand to help her out of the car, it was like Magic! That is the inspiration for my card. I think when we meet the person that we are meant to be with, deep down, you know that this is the one. I can't say that when my husband touched my hand that it was Magic but I probably knew and I grew to love him deeply!

This isn't my usual romantic card. I created a fun card because this movie is fun along with being romantic! For the front of the card I printed the hands from the internet and colored them with Copic markers. I also printed the saying from the computer. The patterned paper is Teresa Collins. I ran the grey, pink, heart and cameo through different Cuttlebug folders. The cameos are from a stamp made by Stamps Happens, Inc. I colored them in with an embossing pen and embossed them with black embossing powder and cut them out.

For the inside of the card, the stamp is Queen Kat Designs. The red chipboard letters are Marcella attached to silver Prisma paper. The rabbit is an old Easter die cut. The paper pieced hat, wand and flowers are my own design. I added punched stars and lips. I had a great time creating this card! Thanks to Brooke and Sankari for giving me this opportunity!
