Back to the 80's!

I have made this card for 2 challenges.

Stampin' for the Weekend #22-Back to the 80's with a twist
Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential #5-In so many words

For the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge you had to use blue, orange and purple and pick one of their three songs listed on their blog for inspiration. I picked Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cindi Lauper. I printed out the lyric to the song on my computer. The stamp is Penny Black that I colored with Copic markers. I made the frame by using a Martha Stewart punch. I think it looks like Madonna lace! I added a flower, ribbon and bling. Thanks for stopping by!

Let Me Make Something for You

Let me make something for you.
Good friend and talanted artist Zoe has posted on her blog an offer I could not refuse. The rules are strict so please read them and if you would like something made by me just for you leave a comment at the end of this posting.

The first five (5) people to respond to this post will get something made by me.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.

2. What I create will be just for you, with love.

3. It’ll be done this year (2009). This is my deadline to make something you for, it may be that you want to change this to some future time such as Easter 2010. Provided you make your committment clear then no one will mind.

4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something strange.

6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.

7. Send your mailing address - after I contact you.

While you're at it, check out Zoe's blog. Her work is outstanding!

A throwback to Summer in the middle of Halloween and Christmas cards!

I needed to make a bright, cheery card after making two dark and scary cards! I made this for Allsorts Challenge #21-Furry Friends and Get Sketchy #11. This stamp is called Seed Shooter and I bought it this Summer and was itching to ink it up!I colored him with Copic markers. The papers are SEI. I made the frame around the image with a ribbon. I added flowers, leaf punches and bling. Thanks for stopping by!

The Sanderson sisters ride again!

The movie for the Cinema Saturday Movie Challenge is Hocus Pocus. This is a fun Halloween movie that I watched with my kids when they were little. I embossed with black the trees using Lovely as a Tree from StampinUp. I cut out the moon and brushed Twinkling H20's around the moon and trees. The witches are stickers from Creative Memories and the Happy Halloween is a sticker from Moxxie. The cat is a fun sticker that I had in my stash and he represents the boy that was turned into a cat and talked! I am also entering this into the Our Creative Corner Challenge because you are supposed to make a card based upon a Holiday Movie. If you can, watch this movie this Halloween with a child! Thanks for stopping by!

The frames, spooky tag and spider web corners are from Memory Makers. I added orange bling. The Raven by Edgar Alan Poe is my favorite spooky Halloween poem! Thanks for stopping by!

Nemo meets hair gel!

Ok I have to explain my title now! This is called a hair gel card! You can find the tutorial here. I will explain it a little bit though. You fill a clear bag with hair gel, sealing well. You create a scene putting it on the back of the baggie so that the gel looks like water. I made one of these for my friend years ago so when I saw that the movie for the Cinema Saturday Challenge #54 was Finding Nemo, I knew that I had to make one for this challenge. You also had to use the colors coral, royal blue, green/blue and white. I also used the sketch from Stampin for the Weekend #20. I have been following this new blog call Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential #3 and you had to make a scene for that challenge.

I created my scene using stickers from K&Co. I just happened to have a clown fish! I also used some bubble stickers. For the outside of the card, I ran the blue panel through the Cuttlebug. I stamped the brown panel and the crab with stamps from StampinUp. I tore the brown paper and distressed it with brown ink. The Hello is a rubon from Memorie Makers. The seahorse is another sticker from K&Co. Under the coral squares I stapled it so that the gel bag would stay in place because it is heavy and that works better than glue. This was fun to make, you need to try it sometime! Thanks for stopping by!

Queen for a day

I created this card for 2 challenges.
Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #53
Our Creative Corner-Sketch

The movie for inspiration at Cinema Saturday is Elizabeth-The Golden Age. It has been a while since I have watched this movie but I remember that Cate Blanchett does such a great job of playing the strong-willed Queen Elizabeth. I chose this lady stamp by Hot Off the Press because she is so regal looking. I masked her off and the background stamp is StampinUp. I filled in the flowers with an embossing pen and embossed it with gold. I embossed the chandelier (Queen Kat Designs) and the crown (Hampton Art). The letter stickers are Bookworks. The background paper is a specialty paper that I had in my stash. It is hard to tell but the black dots are raised felt. I added a gold, sheer ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!

One last card

for World Cardmaking Day! I created this card for 2 challenges. The movie for inspiration at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge is Mrs. Doubtfire. This is a funny movie but I went for the more serious side. I like Daniel's speech at the end of the movie about how family can be different like the parents being divorced but they are still family. The requirement was to make a pocket or a surprise element to your card. I had this iron on velvet house for a long time. I ironed it on the cream cardstock and added lace. The burgundy paper is ran through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. If you swing it to the side, you get some good advice about families from 7Gypsies.I used the sketch from the Inspirational Card Sketches.. This was fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!

All Sorts Challenge #21-Kraft and Midnight Madness Sketch #21

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I created this card for 2 challenges. I used the sketch at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge and I used kraft paper for the All Sorts Challenge. Flutter By Wednesday #77 and Get Sketchy #8

I created this blue sparkly card for Flutterby Wednesday and Get Sketchy. For the Flutterby challenge you were supposed to use Danni's birthstone, sapphire as a color or gem along with your butterfly or fairy and I decided to do both! The stamp is Stampinbella-Madeline. I colored her with twinkling H20's and Copic markers. I rubbed Versamark on the white panel that was run through the Cuttlebug. I then embossed it with blue Zing embossing powder. The saying is a rubon by Cosmo Cricket. I added ribbon and bling by The Paper Studio. Thanks for stopping by!
